National Writing Competition
Majlis Atfalul Ahmadiyya Canada has initiated the Young Authors Awards 2023, an Essay Writing Competition for both Mayar-e-Sagheer and Mayar-e-Kabeer Atfal. The competition aims to inspire Atfal to research and improve their writing skills as well as to increase their knowledge. Cash prizes will be awarded to 1st, 2nd and 3rd place in each English, French and Urdu Categories
All Atfal who wish to take part in this competition should enter into the competition by registering below
The last date to register: September 25th, 2023.
Last date to submit essays: October 10th, 2023.
All essays must be typed and submitted online
Essay word length Mayar-e-Sagheer: 500 – 700
Essay word length Mayar-e-Kabeer: 800 – 1000
Prizes for each Mayar in each Urdu, English and French: 1st $300, 2nd $200, 3rd $100
Essays will be evaluated based on content, coherence, originality, and adherence to the topic. Essays can be written in English, French or Urdu. However, a Atfal may submit an essay in only one language.
• The essay should be an author’s own original work.
• Essays should be between 500 to 700 words for Mayar-e-Saghir and
800 to 1000 words for Mayar-e-Kabir.
• Prepositions are not included in the word count.
• Essays in English and French should be typed. Essays in Urdu may be
handwritten.
• Essays should be fully referenced.
• The first page of the essay should be the title page and should include the
author’s full name, member code, Majlis, email and postal address and a
contact telephone number.

• The Holy Prophet (sa): A role model father
• The Promised Messiah’s (as) beautiful character
• Khalifatul Masih: As our Spiritual Father
Mayar-e-Kabir Topics:
• Establishing a living connection with God
• Holy Quran: A map to navigate social evils
• Khilafat: The Guiding light
